since i dont know what to post, ill post a review about my fav book :)
Juliette hasn’t touched anyone in exactly 264 days.
The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette’s touch is fatal. As long as she doesn’t hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don’t fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.
The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war – and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she’s exactly what they need right now.
Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.
woah.
woah.
woah.
I liked the cover, the synopsis are pretty good and makes me curious / think about "264 days? really?"
I really enjoyed the story. But i dont really like the main character, Juliette. She whined like every single time, im like blah no stop it you're annoying
at the first, i dont want tor read the book but im running out of book at that time, so i decided to read it.
But i love how Tahereh Mafi's writing. Its really elegant, and pretty.
few examples/lines from the book:
“The moon is a loyal companion.
It never leaves. It’s always there, watching, steadfast, knowing us in our light and dark moments, changing forever just as we do. Every day it’s a different version of itself. Sometimes weak and wan, sometimes strong and full of light. The moon understands what it means to be human.
Uncertain. Alone. Cratered by imperfections.”
“Hope is hugging me, holding me in its arms, wiping away my tears and telling me that today and tomorrow and two days from now I will be just fine and I'm so delirious I actually dare to believe it.”
but
I don't really like how Mafi is repeating words way too often.
I dont like Adam also, never liked Adam. I don't like Warner at Shatter Me, but oh my god if you read Unravel Me you'll be fallen in love with Warner like really, im team Warner.
The good things about this book are, the writings, the plot, and this "dystopian" situation.
Actually, it IS a good book but i think i said waaay too many "i dont like" on this review.
Overall, this is a good, beautiful book to read.
Don't forget to read Unravel Me, like you need to read Unravel Me right away after Shatter Me.
and oh! the third book is called "Ignite Me" will be published on February 2o14
